Our ability to reset, come into presence, re-source quickly and move on to make better choices for ourselves and the planet, is our superpower.
What are your key conscious reset strategies?
As individual and unlimited as they are, here are my top 7 reset practices:

Our breath: our most faithful reset button – our breath. Particularly when we notice it! Taking a longer release on the outbreath is a game-changer, isn’t it?
That Space: “Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is a choice. In that choice is our freedom”. Viktor Frankl’s profoundly wise and liberating statement has been an incredible companion as I have journeyed into understanding the difference between reacting and responding. Between our limbic system and our pre-frontal cortex. Between our childhood wounds and our adult mature selves.
Shift: Just making the shift. When we notice we have been mindless, or ‘hooked’ by old familiar thoughts and feelings, we just shift. Shift our body, shift our focus, shift our breath, shift our feeling… Yes, we can.
Sacred Pause: I love this term – it honors the very essence of stopping, for a micro-moment or longer. Letting go of what was or what we wish it would be, and feeling into the life that is here. Right now.
Solitude (in nature): You know that this is my longer go-to reset, and what I encourage you all to do. The power of disconnecting from other human voices to tune into our own. Noticing how our mind, body and soul resets with, and in wider nature.
Fasting: My background is in vision fasts with School of Lost Borders, a sacred practice I value immensely. I have since learnt more about how the body resets at different fasting stages from the likes Dr. Mindy Pelz as she explains here on the Know Thyself podcast. And I enjoy ongoing benefits from liver cleanses (a nutrient rich way of fasting) with functional nutritionist Melania Gil de Sagredo at BeLovedCleanse.
Retreats: Longer breaks and holidays can be wonderful resets. And.. I believe intentional retreats can be even more powerful. Transformational things happen when we disconnect from ‘normal life’ and dedicate time and space for our own healing, development and evolution.
