Arguably Trump does it successfully again.
Being that mirror to those part of ourselves that we dislike.
Most notably, our reluctance to let go.
To let something physically go, is easy. We just open our hands and let it free.
But when it comes to thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, habits, behaviours, identities, positions, well, often we find ourselves doing all we can to cling on. These are the constructs that we have created to keep us feeling safe and feeling worthy. Even if they no longer serve us, we grasp to them for dear life. We cling on with obstinence and belligerence. Our fixations became constrictive, disenabling and disempowering.
Letting go is the ultimate spiritual practice is it not?.
So here is a poem in its honour.
Let it go
A feeling ferments
Let it go
A thought takes hold
Let it go
An emotion entrenches
Let it go
An attachment affixes
Let it go
A belief binds
Let it go
A pleasure panders
Let it go
A craving clings
Let it go
A fear festers
Let it go
A judgement jumps up
Let it go
An aversion arises
Let it go
A blame bubbles
Let it go
A guilt grips
Let it go
A worry whirls
Let it go
A shame surfaces
Let it go
A pain persists
Let it go
